9) DONOR INSEMINATION
There are several ways in which donor insemination can take place ranging from Intra Uterine Insemination (IUI), Intra Vitro Fertilization (IVF), vaginal insemination and sexual intercourse – depending on the process you choose these procedures will be carried out within a clinic. The most important advice that should be considered first in donor insemination in that appropriate health screening tests have been carried out to establish that the sperm donor is in good health before undertaking this process.
By choosing to take the fertility clinic route you will ensure that all relevant health screening and fertility testing is done vigorously for both donor and recipient. Pursuing this option will of course have implications for the donor with regards to parental rights.
By choosing a licensed clinic the donor will have no legal obligation to the child and will not be named as the legal parent on the birth certificate. Sperm donated outside of a licensed clinic would result in the donor becoming the child’s legal father thus giving them all rights and responsibilities that it would involve.
Donors on The Website must agree to only donate with the recipients up to a maximum of 10 successful pregnancies; donors must not exceed this as it will be deemed as irresponsible resulting in donors being removed from this site.
We highly recommend that you consult with your doctor regarding any pre insemination screening tests and that you discuss/obtain information relating to health screening tests for yourself and/or the recipient prior to undertaking home insemination. When carrying out home insemination please ensure that you either gain medical advice from a professional or you clearly follow any health & safety guidelines regarding this procedure. We will not be held liable for any health or medical complications that may occur.
By accepting these terms you acknowledge that you have responsibility to ensure full health and fertility testing will be undertaken for both donor and recipient.
